The ROSEN Group fosters the constant exchange of knowledge among industry, associations, universities and research institutes to advance the transition to hydrogen. ROSEN’s goal is to encourage the industry to get ready for hydrogen by proposing practical processes and approaches for the introduction of this energy source into the existing infrastructure and continuing to equip operators with innovative solutions for a safe and sustainable future.

Subject-matter expertise in asset integrity and appropriate inspection technologies make the company an ideal partner for asset operators across the hydrogen value chain. The ROSEN Group has developed a holistic hydrogen integrity framework in order to provide a roadmap for the safe and efficient conversion of existing gas infrastructure to hydrogen, with the ultimate aim of extending the lifetime of valuable assets into a carbon-neutral future.


HYREADY is a Joint Industry Project of numerous pipeline operators and industry stakeholders from Europe and North America. The aim of the industry collaboration is to develop practical processes and procedures for the introduction of hydrogen into the existing gas grid.


In the TransHyDe lead project, around 85 partners from industry, associations, universities and research institutions as well as 20 other associated partners have come together. The TransHyDE lead project aims to advance hydrogen transport technologies in five accompanying research and four demonstration projects. The flagship project is therefore developing, evaluating and demonstrating several technologies for hydrogen transport, such as existing and new gas pipelines. It is to be funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with around 139 million euros over the next four years.

European Clean Hydrogen Alliance

The European Clean Hydrogen Alliance aims at an ambitious deployment of hydrogen technologies by 2030, bringing together renewable and low-carbon hydrogen production; demand in industry, mobility and other sectors; and hydrogen transmission and distribution. With the alliance, the EU wants to build its global leadership in this domain in order to support the EU’s commitment to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

European Pipeline Research Group

The European Pipeline Research Group EPRG is a European non-profit organization delivering guidance on the technical integrity management of transmission pipelines. It makes use of the combined expertise of its member companies to promote science and research in the areas of pipe manufacturing and pipeline design, construction and operation. EPRG has committed to playing an active role in supporting the energy transition towards a carbon-neutral society.


The GET H2 initiative is an open cross-sector consortium. The goal of the initiative is to establish the core of a nationwide hydrogen infrastructure in order to facilitate an efficient implementation of the energy transition. The starting point is a network from Lingen (Ems) to the Ruhr region and from the Dutch border to Salzgitter to link the production, transport, storage and industrial usage of green hydrogen. The participating companies are continuously expanding the infrastructure along the entire value chain. Connections for all sectors as well as for the import of hydrogen are being created.


AquaVentus is a strong consortium that is currently made up of 79 leading international companies, organizations and research institutes. Together we intend to make a substantial contribution to the implementation of the German and European hydrogen strategy. The goal of the initiative is to produce green hydrogen at sea, with the clear vision of achieving ten gigawatts of green-hydrogen production capacity from offshore wind energy and transporting it to land by 2035. This could provide a groundbreaking impetus for the energy transition and for reducing CO2 emissions in all sectors.
